11/22-11/26 "Fear Builds Walls"
The statement “Fear builds walls” explains what just a little bit of fear could do to your confidence. When somebody experiences fear, they have to climb over walls that are bigger than the walls that they started with. Normally, when someone is feeling fear, they are trying to overcome a struggle or battle. Then, with this feeling of fear, they come up with more reasons to be afraid. Instead of thinking of all the positives, people normally think of the negatives. They think of the worst possible thing that could happen. “Fear builds walls” could also mean not being able to do something because you’re too afraid. When someone is horrified with something, they’ll put up a wall against it so they don’t have to deal with it. The best thing to do in this situation would to overcome it. People can’t live their lives afraid of something. They won’t succeed at all. It’s best to learn from it and deal with it. Being afraid of something could hide someone from an important thing in their life. I’m not afraid of anything which could explain why I have no walls built up in my life. I feel like being afraid of anything just limits someone from so much. Living life with fear is not good. If someone wants to do something, they should do it without fear. Being afraid holds you back from so many opportunities. People need to be more brave and go out and do what their supposed to. That is my interpretation of the quote “fear builds walls.”

11/15-11/19 What Is Winning?
What is winning? I think winning could have two meanings. One meaning is actually winning a competition or game and the other meaning could simply be just doing your best. Winning is being the best there is and becoming the best by earning an award or title. An example of a title could be all-star champion, and the final winner. By winning you could earn a medal, trophy, ribbon or certificate. Winning is a great feeling and makes someone feel so much better about their self. I think winning could emotionally change a person positively and negatively. Winning could make someone not be so nervous to express their talent. At first they could be lacking confidence, and then after they win, they have more faith. Or, if someone wins they might get over conceited about it and think they’re too good for everyone else. Someone may become evil if they always win. But even if you don’t win the title of “a winner” you could still be a winner. That is if you try your best and be a good sport at whatever you do. Winning could be being a good teammate and contributing to the team positively. I believe everyone is a winner if they try to win and have fun doing it. Being lazy and negative is not a winner. If a teammate is losing throughout the whole game, a winner would keep trying and not give up. They would go all the way. And at the end of the game, they continue to be a winner by being a good sport. A winner would congratulate the opponent and continue to be positive. A winner would tell themselves that they will do better next time and will try even harder in practice. A winner could be an actual winner who is awarded the best title or just simply someone who tries.
11/15-11/19 Christmas!
My favorite holiday would have to be Christmas. For real who doesn’t love Christmas? Everything about Christmas is just so joyful. Christmas could put anyone in a good mood. I love the music, the lights and the craziness. Some people are Grinch’s and complain about Christmas but there is no way to hide from it. Christmas lights on houses are so pretty but when people over-do it, it looks horrible. On my house, my Dad normally puts up the icicle kind of lights. I also love Christmas music! It’s never too early for Christmas music. My favorite Christmas song would have to be Where Are You Christmas by Faith Hill. Also, my favorite movie would have to be Elf. Every time I was Elf I laugh hysterically no matter how many times I saw it. He is just so cute and loving. Even though the Christmas spirit could make everyone extremely stressful, I think that it makes everyone feel good inside. When it’s Christmas time I can’t help but smile. The best part of Christmas would have to be opening all the presents. And yes, that’s not all the Christmas is, but I’m pretty sure that’s everyone’s favorite part. I love waking up on Christmas day walking out into my living room and seeing all the presents under the tree. I also love the feeling the night of Christmas Eve knowing the next morning will be Christmas day. My family has a few decorations around the house that counts down till the day of Christmas. When one day is left, that’s when I start going crazy. Christmas is by far the best day of the year. After my family opens up all the presents, my mom makes us a delicious breakfast. And then a few hours later, my family comes over to my house. We all have a good time together exchanging presents and spending some quality family time.
11/15-11/19 What I Am Thankful For
Thanksgiving is a time for giving thanks. The pilgrims came over to America and had a celebration with the Native Americans to thank god for their new life. Today, we celebrate Thanksgiving with family by eating turkey, corn, mashed potatoes and pumpkin pie. I am thankful for so many things in my life. Without so many things in my life, I would probably go crazy. I am probably most thankful for my parents. Without my parents, I wouldn’t be who I was today. Let alone I wouldn’t even be living here today if it wasn’t for them. They have shown me and given me so much I couldn’t be happier. I am so thankful for everything they do. Ever since I was young, they have taught me to do the right thing. They have taught me to strive for excellence and do my very best. And even if I don’t do as good as I plan in whatever, I have learned from them to be happy anyways. I am also thankful for all that they provided me with. My parents spoil me and I am so thankful for everything they gave me. My family always puts me in a good mood when I’m feeling a little down. I am also very thankful for my friends. They also put me in a good mood and make going to school worthwhile. My best memories are spent with my best friends. I don’t know what I would do without them. My friends are there for me when I need somebody. I could always count on them for a good time. Finally, the other important thing I am thankful for is that I am healthy. I see so many kids who are suffering from certain diseases and I feel so bad. I can’t imagine going through some of the things these kids have to go through; it’s just awful. So, in my life, I am most thankful for my parents, friends and good health.

11/8-11/12 If I Could Have Lunch With Three People..
If I could have lunch with three people living or deceased I would probably have to choose my three most favorite males. These three males would be Aj Mclean, Keith Urban and Prince Henry. Aj Mclean, one of the singers from The Backstreet Boys, has been my celebrity crush for as long as I could remember. I’m not even sure why he is, his voice is just simply amazing. I once met Aj Mclean, and I could tell when he put his arm around me for a picture, that it was true love. To actually sit down and have lunch with Aj Mclean would be unbelievably insane. I would be so nervous; I wouldn’t know what to say. I would want to learn about his life as a Backstreet Boy and hear some of his most memorable moments. Another person who I would love to have lunch with is Keith Urban. Keith Urban has an Australian accent which I am completely in love with. I would love to sit down with him and discuss his music and where he came from. During college, I want to study abroad in Australia so it would be nice to gain some extra information about it. Australia always has interested me and looks so nice in pictures. Keith Urban is also an amazing musician. He never fails to make me happy with one of his songs. Finally, the last person I would love to have lunch with is Prince Henry. It has been my dream forever to become a princess so I feel like having lunch would be a perfect opportunity. I know he is engaged, but that means he’s not officially married yet. Princess Holly would sound so nice. I would love to learn about the history of his family and how he plans to run the country. It’s so interesting that a country still has prince and princesses; it seems so old fashion. I would feel completely honored to have lunch with any of these three fine males.

11/8-11/12 Thanksgiving Day!
Every year Thanksgiving dinners are different. Dinner is either at my grandparents’ house or my house. For an example, if we have thanksgiving dinner at my house we’ll have Christmas dinner at my grandmas or vice versa. If it’s my mother cooking she will normally start baking Thanksgiving eve. Every year it’s the same type of food; chicken, stuffing, mashed potatoes, corn and some sort of pie. Sometimes, if my mom has enough time she will make my favorite, cheesecake. Out of all my family members, my mother makes it the best. I’m not sure how she does it, but it always turns out delicious. Once all the food is made, everyone starts showing up. My uncle will come, along with my cousin, and my grandparents. It’s a very big Thanksgiving dinner like some families because most of my other aunts and uncles live out of state. People will start showing up around two a clock normally. Or, if my grandma is cooking then we will arrive at her house around two. At either of our houses, a football game is normally on. I’m not too interested in watching it so I normally just chill in the kitchen eating snacks such as deviled eggs, pickles, and olives. Again, my mother makes the best deviled eggs! I refuse to eat anyone else’s deviled eggs except my mothers. Then, when everyone starts getting hungry, it’s finally time to eat. We normally either go get our own food that’s spread out on the counter or pass it around the table. We’ll all join at the dinner table, say a prayer, and dig in!

11/1-11/5 R-E-S-P-E-C-T
Respect is simply treating people the way you would like to be treated. Respect could be being polite or kind to someone. Saying your manners such as please, thank you and your welcome are all examples of what it takes to be respectful, Respect could also mean gaining someone’s trust. I respect all my best friends because I know I could trust them with anything I say. Another example is you’re supposed to respect your elders. We all have heard this before, but what does it really mean? Most people were taught to respect their elders because our elders are always the wisest. They have gone through more things than most people have and can lead you down the right path. If your disrespectful towards them, there not going to want to help you. Most of the time when you’re disrespectful to an adult, it’s because you think your right and their wrong. But normally, it turns out that your wrong and their right. Respect is needed and helpful all around. Students should use respect towards teachers during class lessons or lectures. While the teacher is talking, students should be quiet and listen to them while they speak. This although is not the case most of the time. Respect should additionally be used on a day to day basis. For an example, all men should respect women. Men should hold the door for their woman, pay for her, and always treat her like a princess. That’s the way it’s always been so they shouldn’t complain. In conclusion, respect means treating someone fairly and politely.
11/1-11/5 Dream Job
My dream job is to own a gymnastics gym. Gymnastics has been a part of my life since I was about three. When I was nine, up to the age of about thirteen I did competitive gymnastics. I was practically at the gym training more than I was at home. I considered my two coaches my second mom and my second dad. I just absolutely love gymnastics and everything about it. I always said I wanted to coach gymnastics when I was older, and I’m almost there. Right now, I work at my original gym, Gymnastics Sports Academy, coaching three to five year old. It’s not quite the level of skill I want to be coaching but it is still so much fun. I considered going to school for business and coaching and somehow make this dream come true. But then when I started really thinking about it, I’m not sure if it’s a really good idea. Gymnasts get hurt quite often and I can’t stand blood and broken bones. But if I really did open a gymnastics gym, it would be the sweetest and coolest gym around. I would name it Holly’s Flip and Twist Gymnastics Academy. Our gym colors would be silver, lime green and black. Also, because the gym would be ran be me, and me only, we would be the best. My gymnasts would go to championships all over the country, winning first place at every one. If I owned a gymnastics gym I wouldn’t even consider it a job. It would be a dream come true.
