10/4-10/8 Hairspray

Another one of my favorite movies is Hairspray. Hairspray came out 3 years ago and when I first saw it, I fell in love. All of the characters put on a good show dancing and singing to all of the songs I later learned. All the songs were so upbeat and fun that I added them to my iPod. The racial and weight discrimination issues were managed with humor and without being offensive. One of the main characters was Zac Efron, a major crush I had at the time. He was part of the reason why I kept my eyes on the screen. From beginning to end, Hairspray put a smile on my face. It was not anywhere near boring or dull. There was so much going on; it kept me interested. At first I didn’t think I would like it because I normally don’t like musicals. But Hairspray was somehow different. I liked Hairspray so much that when I went to New York City, my mother and I got front row seats to see it on Broadway. It wasn’t as good as the movie of course because I liked the actors better. The movie is so bright and bubbly and could put anyone in a good mood.
